Uganda: The East Africa Apostolic Summit
We want to thank you for your prayers for this whirlwind trip. I am on the last
leg of the journey home. This trip included four days of travel and two days of
intense ministry that will result in generations of spiritual change. I only
hope that I can communicate the magnitude of breakthrough that occurred.
You will be rewarded greatly for your prayers for
this team. Marty Cassady, Ginny Marks, Joe Askins, John and Sheryl Price
and I thank you very much. Nations attending were: Uganda, Congo,
Tanzania, Rwanda, and
Kenya, as well as the guests from America. Peter Wagner was the host, and
the Executive panel included Apostle John Kelley, Joseph Thompson, Jackson
Senyonga from Uganda, and me.
Before we left, we received a word about
"acceleration". Things formed and solidified quickly. The other
word was that "we were going to give but would be returning with much to
release." We could feel your shield of prayer around us, propelling
us forward beyond weariness and resistance. Because of your obedience,
receive your portion by faith. Below are the key issues that occurred during
this gathering.
Restoring the Fathers Hearts to the Children's Hearts
In 1978 I visited Zimbabwe. While I was there
the burden of the Lord came upon me and I began to travail and weep. The
travail was over Uganda and over its "war children." Most of the
participating nations of the Summit have experienced terrible bloodshed,
iniquity and genocide, leaving an orphan spirit in the land.
As I travailed in prayer the Lord said to me,
"When you visit Uganda it will be My time to restore the hearts of the
children to the fathers. I will break the orphan spirit." Mal.
4:6 says, "And He will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and
the hearts of the children to the fathers, unless I come and strike the earth
with the
curse." We began the entire gathering by me declaring this in East
Africa. This word resonated deeply within the leaders of those nations.
Therefore, much of our discussion on the first day had to do with the apostolic
call of fathering and mothering a nation so that the power of dysfunction
breaks.
Receiving the Spirit of Prophecy and the Office of the Prophet
Before you see restoration between fathers and
children, Malachi 4:5 says: "Behold I will send you Elijah the Prophet.and
he will turn the hearts..." At the end of the first day there was a
recognizable prophetic void. This apparent major gap resulted in the lack
of relationship and partnership between the apostolic and the prophetic.
At the beginning of the second day we asked the
apostles who had relationship with prophets to stand. No one stood.
Only one of the group shared that this type of relationship had been in his life
and ministry. However, the man who had functioned as a prophetic voice in
his ministry had died.
Peter called the Team and I forward to minister
to those who wanted to see this relationship develop. It was powerful.
This is when breakthrough began. Before I left for the Summit a wonderful
intercessor had given me a necklace which included a silver lock and key.
She said, "I have waited to give this and you will know how to use it in
Uganda." I presented this necklace to an individual and began to prophesy
that the
unlocking would begin. The Spirit of God began to move powerfully.
Transformation: A Call to the Region
George Otis, Jr. shared in the Transformation II video
how the nation of Uganda has shifted over the last ten years or so. Even
though Uganda has been used as a model of transformation, East Africa as a
region needs to
move into a different level of spiritual influence in society.
A panel concerning transformation in the region
communicated how many breakthroughs have occurred, but you could hear the desire
of each panel member to go to the next level so that the great harvest of these
fields would begin. We saw that this region could take the transformation
model "out of the box" and move forward into birthing an evangelistic
move of harvest. We saw that they could move past the revival of the past
into a truly "new thing" in the earth.
Moving from the Pastoral Office to Apostolic Authority
A panel was held on moving from a pastoral way of
thinking of maintaining the church, into transformation. John Mulinde
shared how the Lord shifted him into a mentality to change nations. Much
discussion occurred. We talked about breaking out of a confined structure
and competition, to move into a territorial authority.
Peter Wagner shared many principles. Joseph
Thompson shared about the move of God in Nigeria. I concluded by sharing
from Matthew 16:13-23 how Peter had revelation of who the Lord was. This
resulted in the Lord prophesying that He would build His church, the gates of
Hell would not prevail, and He would give keys to unlock the Kingdom. John
Kelley gave an incredible teaching on the apostolic gift and warfare, and I then
explained the difference between having a church mentality and a Kingdom
mentality. There was a great shift in the thinking process of the people.
Spiritual Identities Changed
You could actually see their identities change as many
of the leaders there began to embrace their apostolic call. Several women
pastors (oneof whom has a church of 3,000) embraced their call and were received
by
the brethren. This was a major shift. The identity of the Church began to
change in East Africa.
A Nation Birthed in a Day
Once the above began, you could actually see change
occurring with your eyes. Is. 66:8 says, "Who has heard such a thing? Who
has seen such things? Shall the earth be made to give birth in a day? Or shall a
nation
be born at once? For as soon as Zion was in labor, she gave birth to a
child!"
Peter Wagner called Apostle Senyonga forward and
released over him his mantle to apostolically convene that region of the earth.
Apostle Senyonga began to lead the people in prayer. A powerful mantle
fell. The coalition and government of the apostles was birthed in that region
immediately.
A Prophetic Call for Supernatural Confrontation Ahead
I began to prophesy that God was raising up a
new leadership for today in East Africa. Through the prophecy, He shared with
them that days of confrontation were ahead just like in the days of Moses. This
would be a people that would model His supernatural power. He would raise
them up as one throughout these nations to withstand the changes ahead, for a
day of deliverance was going to come upon East Africa.
He shared that this would be a people who would
model a supernatural dimension to the world just as in the days of Moses.
He shared that there would be confrontations beginning in 26 months -
governmental confrontations. I believe this could be over religious issues
or actual civil government changes that try to bring oppression to the region
again. The Lord had dropped a mantle on the leaders of that region, and His
Glory was very powerful.
Grasshoppers
As most of you know, Peter Wagner loves to eat, not
like normal people, but strange things that he has never eaten before. He
requested ants and grasshoppers. They brought the grasshoppers at the end of the
meeting.
He wanted us to share with him in his delicacies. This is something that neither
Marty Cassady nor I ever do. However, the Spirit of God said
"EAT!"
He said the giants of that region were becoming
bread, and like grasshoppers. He also said a forerunning anointing had been
birthed and would go forth from that part of the world. So, like John the
Baptist eating locusts, we "tasted and saw the Lord was good!" I
release all of this on you! May your giants become bread to you. May they
be like grasshoppers. May you begin to find your place in the forerunning
anointing that is going forth in the earth. May you have authority over occult
powers and be willing to rise up in the supernatural confrontations ahead. May
things accelerate quickly and you see the suddenlies. May your heart be
restored. May your sons and daughters prophesy. We have done apostolic summits
in Singapore, Norway (for Northern Europe), Italy (for Southern Europe), Kiev
(for the former Soviet Bloc nations), Nigeria and now Uganda (for East Africa).
We left this nation knowing a mantle had been established. Thank you again for
praying and supporting us in our efforts to see the leadership and government of
the Church change for the future. Blessings,
Chuck Pierce and the Team
